Reciprocal Reading

Today for reading we did reciprocal reading and the book that we read was comets. We did some predicting, clarifying, questioning and summarising. Predicting is when you think what is going to be on the next page. Clarifying is about a word that you don't know and you are unsure of. Questioning is when you ask someone what a comet made out of. Summarising is add up the information together.     

Career

Today for inquiry we were finding out about what career we are going to do when we grow up and I found lots of things that I didn't know about the career that I was doing. The thing why I like to do art is because I like to draw and I love art.         

Career Quest

Today we learnt about the definition of career and jobs. After we did that we did a test and the website that we us to do the test was career quest. The website will ask you some question and you answer it, if you are done it will show you the result. Like what career you interesting in. After that we went on the mat and talk with someone about you result.      

Kiwi Can

Today for kiwi can we have a new topic for this term and it is Resilience. Resilience is when you are setting you goal for success and our new theme is  goal setting. For our energizer we play a game called horse and jockies it was fun. The point of this game is all about us power walk around the circle when she say horse and if she say jockies that me we power walk to or pairs and touch them on they back. If she say banana then we switch with our pairs and for our activities we set up a goal point and try to reach it. The first cone is worth 50 points the second one worth 100 and the last one is 150 and it is a bonus cone but the bonus point you can take the other team point off. 

Algorithms

Today for math we did a DLO about algorithms. Algorithms is all about trading and exchange the number to the hundreds, tens and one. This is strategy that I learnt it is very easy to learn it is all about adding the number together in the column.       

Virtual reality

Today in maths our teacher let us try out virtual reality. Me and my friends Joshua and Dallas did it all together we went out side on the stairs and looked threw the virtual reality glasses it look realistic threw the virtual reality glasses. When we looked down it is like we were floating in the air. I am looking forward to do this because it was super fun using this tool.     

Who Wants To Be a Mathionaire?

Today for math we played a game called Who Wants To Be a Millionaire. This game is all about us answering the times table, there is a board of money at the side. Each answer you get it right the money will go up to $1,000,000. If you get all of the questions right you will get the money up to $1,000,000. If you get one answer wrong we need to to start over again. It is very fun playing this game because I can get better at my timetable. Here is the Link to the game.

Light House For Sale

This we were creating a poster about Lighthouses for sale. I find a lighthouse in Britain. It costs NZ $2,679,673 for the lighthouse that I use. The lighthouse is called Point Lynas Lighthouse. I thought that this lighthouse was great for me because the rooms and the looks of it. NZ $2,679,673 would be worth to sleep in because it is a holiday house.

Pros and Cons

Today we learnt about pros and cons. The image that we use was about a light house. Then we went into our group to make a DLO about pro's and con's. We made it all together to get more pro's and con's words in our DLO. Pros's is like what is a good thing about the lighthouse and cons is what is a bad thing about the light house.    

ASB Getwise

Today we learnt about saving money, the person who is teaching us was Jayden from ASB. He did a test on us he told us to clap our hand and bring it to together and If your left thumbs on top of your right thumbs that mean that yo spend money, Then if your thumbs goes together then that mean that you spend a little bit of your money and if your right thumbs goes on your left thumbs that meant that you have save your money but at the start I said it was a test so that mean it is not real. When we were done we did a game the main point to win the game is to get more entertainment points and to make sure that you don't have a lot of money.
              

Matariki Festivel

Today at panmure bridge school we did a festival about Matariki. The first dance that we watch was the kapa haka then the drummers form are school it was amazing how they learn it so fast. They did it in an hour after the drummers the juniors kapa haka did they dance it was sort but it was still good. Then the ukulele perform for us and last but not less the Pacific perform for us. When the Pacific done there dance we ate some sausages.

Matariki Presentation

This week we collaborate with some of the LS1 students in my group was John from LS2, Leroy form LS1, Matthew from LS1 and then Karlos form LS1 we were working together on a poster that we made all together in our group. The poster was about Matariki before we did the poster we watch a video about Matariki when we were done watching the video we set a three minute timer to write the fact that we learn in the video. 

M&M Presentation

This week we did a DLO about M&M's, it is about us collaboratively together with our group to find the information that we need and the work is all about finding information about M&M like finding three interesting fact about M&M, compering our group chat to the M&M chart about the colour in the packet, making a bar graph and a pie graph and then finding history about M&M. It was fun to do this activate because I found out some interesting fact that I don't know about M&M. One of the fact is When Forrest Mars saw the Spanish civil war eating chocolate pellets then he got the idea for M&M’s to be created. It was very challenging because me and my group did a lot research to find the information for our DLO.
