On Wednesday the year 5, 6, 7, and 8 netball teams went down to the Auckland Netball center. We were thinking it will be a sunny day but it was a raining day. I was in the year 7 & 8 green teams. In this team there were Magenta, Nyjah, Angela, Hajera , Ofa, Joshua V, Julian, and me. We had 6 games and we lost 5 games and tied 1 game with Stone Fields.I would like to thank Mr Ogilvie for organizing this event for us, Shawn for supervising the year 5 and 6 and Ms McClain for coaching our team.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

Reading
Today for reading we looked at a book called first dinosaur encyclopedia. We learnt about word while we looked at the pages and the words that we were learning about was a glossary, caption and other more words. At the end we chose a page and put the word on the page like in this photo.

Design Models
This week for tech we design a phone stand models. This models that I made was a plan. The design I have made to supports my phone stand was the bottom of the design and the size of it. The shape of my design was a angry birds. I can improve my design by making it bigger and making it flat at the bottom.

Duffy Assembly
Today we got Duffy assembly. Michel Mulipola came to our school to explains his job, and what he does at his spare time and he is a comic illustrator. Michel Mulipola is not just a comic illustrator. He is a wrestler and a gamer.

Today for reading we played a game called wheel words. The game was all about us trying to make a words with the letter that we got. We can only make a word with the letter that we got in the middle. Vector Wero Whitewater Park
This week some of our class mates and I went to the vector wero whitewater Park. We went after our morning tea. When we got there we waited for a couples of minute because there are getting the gear ready. But then one of the workers came to tell us to come an watch a video about te ika a maui and the safety rules for the vector wero whitewater park. Then we went outside to put on the gear after we got the gear on we went to talk about the rivers and we got to cross. My first time doing it a fell down but my second time doing it I didn't fell done then we did all together as a group. After that we got on the boat and then they turn on the water to go up the ramp but our team took a shortcut. Then we got a chance to jump in the the water. But their were stirs for us to go on and we had to swim to the stirs so we don't go in the lake. After that we went to take a hot shower.

Bridge Test
This week we test our bridges out after lunch time. We went second and take a photo first after it was all done we got stared to test out our bridge out. The span was a yes then it was the truck on it and it was a yes. Then the aesthetic we got 7/10 and then the weight we got 800g then the cost our one was 107.75c

Math Challenge
Today for math Mr Wong created a math challenge for our math group. The point of the game is us trying to solve all of the math question fast. I did not solve it that fast but I got all of it correct. It was fun for me because it was a challenging game and some of the question was hard for me.

Wheel Words
Today for reading we played a game called wheel words. It was all about us trying to make a words with the letter that we got. We can't make a word without the o in the middle because that the letter that we had to use to make the words. It was kind of easy because it has the an easy letter in the middle. The amount that I got out of 19 was 12 and there were words that you have to solve like a 4 letter words.

Building Bridge
This week for inquiry we tried to finish off our bridge that we made out of toothpicks and glue. The part that we are on is gulling it all together. We use up 385 tooth pick all together. It as hard because of the gulling it together because some of it will just fall down.

Auckland philharmonic orchestra
Today we went to the Auckland philharmonic orchestra. Their were an Auckland dance project there. The people that did the dance was St Kent's and Ngatapawae college and the dance was Romeo and Juliet. The orchestra played three different music and their were different sections like the brass, woodwind, percussion, strings and conductor. The instrument they use to play was a trumpet, trombone, tuba, french horn and other more instrument that they use. One of the music there were an opera singer that sing for all the school. We went as a group to watch the Auckland philharmonic orchestra and I will like to said a big thank you to Alex mum for coming on this trip.

Building Bridge
This week for inquiry we are building bridges with toothpicks and glue. The first thing that we did was to plan our bridges in our groups. Each person in our group has a special job. We are trying to make a bridge with a truss and we have added an abutment to hold it on. It is fun doing this because its my first time building a bridge and I am using the information I have learned in Inquiry to help me.

Reciprocal reading
Today for reading we did reciprocal reading. The book was about buildings around the World. It tells us some information about famous buildings around the World and how they were built. One of the structures was the Taj Mahul in India. Reciprocal reading helps us to improve our reading comprehension. We work in groups and first we need to predict what we think is going to happen, then we silent read the page. After that we clarifying any words we don't under stand. Finally we summarize what we have read about.
