For the second activity we had to write about our hometown and what makes it special. We had to put some adjectives to write about our hometown.
Auckland is a magnificent place to be apart of and It is called the city of sails. Auckland has a great view up the sky tower because it is high and you can see the sun set. Panmure is my hometown, Panmure is special to me because it is a calm place. It is nice and quiet but some time at night you can hear car going through. It is also special because it makes me happy and because there is lots of polite people.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 2 and my teacher is Mrs Anderson.

- The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.
- New Zealanders are also called kiwis but kiwi is not a fruit. It is New Zealand’s native flightless bird.
- There are no snakes in the country
Today for the first activity for the summer learning journey we had to find our top 3 fact that we chose form a website. I chose three fact that I find interesting and the website that we look at was about New Zealand. Here is the website.

Where Am I Challenge
Today Alex and I were working together on a collaborative challenge, for it we needed to find out where the image was and then answer 5 questions: What is it, where is it, who uses it, when was it built and why is it there. We also needed to find 5 facts for each building/monument, take a screen-shot of it on google maps and find and attribute an image of it. We learnt many new things like how the Eiffel Tower wasn't meant to stay, the Sydney Opera house cost 102 million AUD and that the Mona Lisa is priceless meaning that it can't be insured.

Steampunk Art
For the past couple of days, we were learning about Victorian time was when Queen Victorian was in her position in England. The first activity we did was to choose one of the task from Victorian time. We choose what toys children play with. For this task I worked with Sanujan. When we were finished with our presentation we show it to the teacher. I know that steampunk art is a mixture between antique machinery and things from the present. After we've learnt about steampunk we were to draw an steampunk art using paper and pencil. After that we were to trace our drawn image onto our devices and draw it on our devices.

Sport Leader Speech
Sports Leader
Hi my name is Aung Naing, and I am determined to take on the role of PBS’s sport leader for 2019! I will be responsible by taking care of the sports equipment. I will help Mr Ogilvie when we have an inter-school tournament by collecting the notices and by helping sort the uniforms for the teams. I know that means I will need to be here early on a sports day but I don’t mind.
I really enjoy playing all sports especially soccer, cricket and basketball. I am a very active person and I have represented Panmure Bridge School by playing in the inter school soccer, cricket, netball and touch teams every year since Year 4. I am a team player who shows fair play, and when I am sub out I encourage my team mates by cheering them on.
I have been responsible for the flag every day this year and I have really enjoyed doing it. I like that the teachers know I am responsible because I never forgot my job. I am a little bit nervous and shy to talk in front of a big crowd, but I think that it will be good for me to get more confidence by speaking at assembly each week.
Becoming the Sports Leader for 2019 will be an honor to me and I will show good sportsmanship throughout the day and would like to take some games for the junior school at lunchtime. If I become Sports Leader for 2019 I would be the first person in my family to be given a leadership role and that would make them all proud.
